Functions:
Provide a level of superior cleanliness and maintenance on the sidewalks and curbs in Uptown Columbus. Act as an Ambassador in providing information and assistance to the public as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to work outside 12 months per year
Ability to operate light industrial machinery 7 hours per day
Drivers license required with a clean MVR record
Provide the required skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to the first level Supervisors
Duties and Responsibilities:
Keep all block-faces free of trash, leaves, cigarette butts, dirt, rocks, and gravel in the area assigned.
Operate ATLV street-sweeper, pressure washer, blower, pan and broom, push-broom, and other light industrial equipment throughout all block-faces in the area assigned.
Perform other related general laborer duties as assigned.
Remove weeds from sidewalk crevices and tree wells in the area assigned.
Report all graffiti observed in the area assigned to the first level Supervisor.
Remove all handbills (illegal postings) from city properties and other surfaces in the area assigned.
Dispose of all trash, leaves, cigarette butts, and handbills in appropriate manner and at an assigned location.
Perform daily written maintenance and inspection on assigned equipment which includes pre-operation and post-operation checks, cleaning, and minor repairs.
Required to stand, walk, lift, kneel, crouch, and move up to 50 pounds.
