BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

Clean streets. Helpful information. Safer blocks. That’s the main focus – along with economic revitalization – for the Columbus Business Improvement District (BID) and their Ambassadors or “Purple People.” They answer the call seven days a week to provide information and assistance, improve public safety, and enhance litter prevention and control.

Uptown has a dynamic and engaging partnership with the national Main Street America program. The people who make up Main Street America (that’s us!) are passionate advocates, dedicated volunteers, influential stakeholders, and community organizers who work every day to turn the tide in their communities—catalyzing reinvestment, creating jobs, and fostering pride of place.
