Opening Reception of Celebrate Columbus History Exhibit

  • RiverCenter for the Performing Arts 900 Broadway Columbus, GA, 31901 United States (map)

Historic Columbus is thrilled to announce a second exhibition installation in partnership with RiverCenter for the Performing Arts!

Throughout our first exhibit, Lost Columbus, we explored the history of buildings that once stood in our town. Our second, Celebrate Columbus, highlights iconic figures, places, and stories of our town's cultural arts history. The arts have been woven into the fabric of Columbus. It is our intent for this exhibit to move you through the timeline of our history and provide a glimpse into the development of the arts within our community. Columbus has also been very fortunate to have been the birthplace of such iconic talents as Blind Tom, Ma Rainey, Tom Darby of Darby & Tarlton, Nunnally Johnson, Carson McCullers, and Alma Thomas. Join us on Tuesday, February 21st at 5:30 PM as we celebrate the opening of the exhibition. All are welcome! You still have a chance to view Lost Columbus, on the second floor of the RiverCenter, through February 11th. Stop by 900 Broadway to see it!

Celebrate Columbus is possible thanks to a grant from the Cultural Arts Alliance!
