Reception at 5pm with wine and cheese, and 45-minute concert at 5:37pm!
Our March MUTD program, entitled Colors of the Eclipse, will feature performances by Schwob faculty members and students alike. We will start with Oliver Messiaen’s amazing Theme and Variations, presented by distinguished violin Prof. Sergiu Schwartz and amazing pianist, Dr. Esther Park. This is followed by Debussy’s iconic Clair de lune, performed by wonderful harpists Katie Damon and LeAndra Douds. Next up are a few selections from Bizet’s dramatic opera Carmen, but performed in this case by our Schwob student bassoon quartet – unlike you’ve ever heard before! Right after, the incredible Dr. Susan Tomkiewicz, will perform Stephen Gorbos’ And They Sing This for oboe and electronics. The concert will conclude with our internationally renowned Schwob Trombone choir, under the direction of Dr. Bradly Palmer, performing Joe Buono’s powerful Eclipse. This colorful presentation will have designs by award winning Australian artist, Cat Machin.
